Welcome to 2018 where there are millions of blogs to browse through – many of which are filled with great information. As most of us know, a blog is a frequently updated web log of information and opinions. Blogs can be used for a range of things; they vary from marketing businesses to simple online journals for people to confide in. There is so much you can do with a blog, but the best thing you may be able to do is make some money with it.
Did You Know You Can Make Money Blogging?
That’s right! You can make money by writing out your opinion of providing information on something you feel truly knowledgeable in. There are a few ways that you can get paid for writing a blog. One way is through directly incorporating advertisements using websites like Google AdSense or Word Ads through WordPress. Advertisers will bid to put ads on your website and you’ll get paid for it! When you first start your blog, you may not get a lot of money for ads since the payment is based on web traffic and the length of time people spend on your site. Over time, though, more traffic equals more money!
Ads aren’t the only way you can make money with your blog. You can also be part of an affiliate market for another site. Affiliate marketing is basically marketing products, services, or memberships for companies and other websites. When people click on the links or buy a product that you linked them to, you are paid a commission as an affiliate. Some big companies that you can affiliate market with are: Amazon – Shop. Connect. Enjoy. All from Earth’s Biggest Selection., Target, or Walmart
You can also include private advertisements on your site as well. These could be banners or portions of high traffic areas that can be sold to the highest bidder, or the most relevant bidder, on your site. Private advertising is great because you get to set the price and if you are getting a lot of web traffic, then you can make a lot of money. For example, the blog smartblogger.com makes $100,000 and that’s over 100k per month!
You can also sell merchandise, memberships, seminars, or books. Those are just a few examples of the many items you can sell on your blog. It all depends on what your blog is all about.
The first move for you would be to start your first blog. You should use a hosting site like WordPress to make editing and updating incredibly easy. Once your blog is set up and you have ads and affiliations in place, then you should do your research and find creative ways to market your website. I highly recommend using social media first, that way you can develop a community for your blog. Then I would continue to create good and engaging content that people enjoy. If you create good content people will come.
Blogs give you an outlet to voice your opinion and can potentially act as a place to help others learn something they already didn’t know. Getting paid for them is a bonus! The harder you work, the more you can make. For some people, their blog is their work. For others, it’s just a hobby. You can have it be one or the other and still make a little extra cash on the side. Possibly the best thing you can do is teach someone something new and earning their thanks – which is a great feeling that ads can’t buy.
