Getting started on your road to financial freedom is going to be tough, so here are some things you should do first.
The first thing you should do on your road to financial freedom is finding a purpose. Ask yourself what it is you’re looking for. Look into your own future and see where you want to be. Once you have a clear idea of where you want to be in life, you can backtrack and see what it will take to get yourself there.
Life is not always easy. Some people’s goals will require more sacrifices than others. Some may be able to take the fast track to financial freedom. Others may have a few more obstacles to face. It should be known, though, that everyone moving at their own pace is not a bad thing – especially if they do so with their purpose in mind.
With your purpose in mind, you have the ability to achieve your goals in any way feasible for you. For instance, if I felt as though my purpose was to give back to my community, I could donate to a community charity. Though trouble may arise if I’m not able to give as much as I would like to because I have bills or pay or my income is tied up in other ventures. If that were the case, I could possibly gather a group of people like myself that want to give and start a foundation. With a purpose in mind, you can create options that other people might not have been able to see and find a way around obstacles. In the example above, I listed two of the multiple ways to do the same thing and give back to the community. One may require more work than the other, but it could potentially give a lot more back to the community than the easier option.
Find that special thing that motivates you to succeed and use it as a driving force to bring you to the future that I told you to envision. Understand that having financial freedom allows you to do all the things that you want to do. When you have free cash flow and no worries about your financial situation, it gives you the flexibility and freedom to pursue what you want. The point of this post isn’t to claim that money is everything, the takeaway is that it can help you move forward with your purpose in life and help ensure that you have a life worth living for yourself.
A book that really helped me find that purpose was Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
